Upstate NY Research Trip Day 9

Today, I finally got to see Lyndhurst.

It was interesting to learn about the people who lived there, even though I couldn't help but wonder how much good for humanity they could have done instead of building such an opulent house that they didn't even spend most of their time in.

But for my purposes, it helped with my research. I could rattle on about who they were, how they got their money, etc. But I was mostly there to see the beautiful Gothic revival architecture and art, so I will just share some of my many pictures.

*I was on a tour, so many of these photos contain other people on the tour. With how strict the place was about staying together, this was unavoidable.

Tomorrow, we start the journey back to Wisconsin.

About

    D. Lieber has a wanderlust that would make a butterfly envious. When she isn’t planning her next physical adventure, she’s recklessly jumping from one fictional world to another. Her love of reading led her to earn a Bachelor’s in English from Wright State University.

Beyond her skeptic and slightly pessimistic mind, Lieber wants to believe. She has been many places—from Canada to England, France to Italy, Germany to Russia—believing that a better world comes from putting a face on “other.” She is a romantic idealist at heart, always fighting to keep her feet on the ground and her head in the clouds.

Lieber lives in Wisconsin with her husband (John) and cats (Yin and Nox).
